FASHION: Vintage-inspired Tryst jewelry

For my birthday this past March, my sister sent me a fabulous necklace (pictured at left) from the jewelry line tryst, a vintage-inspired collection handmade by a Toronto-based designer. I wear my necklace constantly and I frequently peruse the line's site, looking for more beautiful finds.

The designer Kerry often integrates vintage pieces into her original designs in support of her eco-friendly beliefs and a section of the site also showcases vintage jewelry items for sale.

My favorite of the line is the "wedding" collection, a section of the site filled with items -usually in shades of white meant to accessorize with a wedding gown- that could easily pass as a family heirloom or a bride's "something borrowed".



It's great to support independent designers and artisans, especially when their items are beautiful and handmade well. My favorite items from the line are below. Be sure to check out tryst's site for a look at more fabulous pieces.

(Above) The "Carbonated" necklace, a gold plated pewter chain with a dainty cluster of Czech glass, pewter petals, and a Swarovski rhinestone studded bead. To close, this sparkly charm luster slips through an organic hammered hoop. Also available in 14kt gold. $24

(Left) The "Maylily" bracelet, a lovely mix of soft blue amazonite stones that run parallel with a delicate handmade chain of elongated golden loops, made complete with a dangling pair of golden leaves and a sweet vintage lily. Priced at $38.
